At this international congress of the WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO), Prof. Dr. Heinz Helmut Vejpustek, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry EEIG, presented the "European Hotel Standard" and the "European Restaurant Standard" which were elaborated by experts of the EEIG and international specialists of tourism. These standards are the first international norms for the classification of hotels and restaurants (in five categories). He explained the advantages (fair competition, consumer protection, and general improvement of the quality) of these standards on the basis of which it is easy to classify hotels and restaurants according to a comprehensive checklist.  Prof. Vejpustek pointed out that there exists also a "European Standards for Wellness and Health Centres"  and a "European Standard for Cafés", both worked out by the EEIG experts. A "European Standard for Camping Sites" is in preparation
